Tsum Valley Trek
Tucked away in the remote northern Gorkha region, Tsum Valley is one of Nepal’s most beautiful and culturally rich hidden valleys. Surrounded by spectacular Himalayan peaks, traditional villages, ancient monasteries, and peaceful mountain landscapes, the valley offers an authentic trekking experience far from the busy tourist trails.
The journey takes you through lush forests, dramatic river valleys, suspension bridges, and traditional settlements before reaching the higher villages of Chumling, Chhokangparo, Nile, and Mu Gompa. Along the way, trekkers can discover the unique Tibetan Buddhist heritage of the Tsumba people, visit centuries-old monasteries such as Rachen Gompa and Mu Gompa, and explore sacred sites including Piren Phu (Milarepa’s Cave).
Tsum Valley is also renowned for its stunning Himalayan scenery, with magnificent views of Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Himalchuli, and surrounding mountain ranges. Its remote environment, ancient culture, and untouched landscapes make it an ideal destination for travelers seeking adventure, spirituality, and authentic Himalayan experiences.
The trek is best suited to those with good physical fitness and a sense of adventure. Spring and autumn are generally considered the best seasons for clear mountain views and comfortable trekking conditions. As Tsum Valley is a restricted trekking area, the required permits and trekking regulations must be followed.

Day 4: Lhokpa to Chumling, 2886 m, 4/5 h.
Day 5: Chumling to Chhekampar, 3010 m, 5/6 h.
Day 6: Chhekampar to Nile/Khhole, 3361 m, 5/6 h.
Day 7: Nile to Mu Gumpa, 3700 m, 3/4 h. Return back to Nile.
Day 8: Nile to Chumling, 2886 m, 6/7 h.
Day 9: Chumling to Philim, 1590, 6/7 h.
Day 10: Philim to Machhi Khola, 869, 6/7 h.
Day 11: Back to Ktm from Machhikhola, buy bus, 7/8
